A national men's wear chain allocated merchandise without an
understanding of demand clustering. We strongly defined category
elements geared to lifestyle and reposition both inventory and space
allocation driven by local demand. The company has since had several
years of
double digit growth.
Margin Management
We introduced new markdown management technologies into a premier
department store group and changed the markdown scheduling processes to
derive a better end-of-season margin. Gross margin improved by 400
basis points and was expanded to all women's sportswear areas.
Outsourcing
We changed the business processes to outsource A/P operations for a
children's specialty store with major efficiencies and a cost reduction
of over 30%.
Quick Service Food
Operations
We developed the strategies for the use of preset kiosks for quick
service food operations that improved flow-through of customers at peak
hours from 12 minutes to 4.5 minutes. The technology company is
prepared to roll out to major elements of the industry.
Retail Marketing
Strategy
As interim management for a $500 million retail firm, we changed the
promotional posture and inventory management processes. Impacted the
current sales rates of -15% to + 4.5% in peak season.
Inbound Logistics
For a national manufacturer and distributor of industrial and home
speaker systems, we redesigned international inbound and domestic
outbound
freight system costs and management.
Energy Reduction
Implemented new technologies in the HVAC area that reduced air
conditioning expense by 15% with an ROI of less than 18 months.
